What is it?

Passionate communities need passionate support.

Power to Change offers funding opportunities for community businesses countrywide to support sustained success in a local capacity run by local community teams. A community business is led by the local community and helps to tackle problems in their area. Any profits flow back into the community to deliver positive local impact.

The Brief

As an organisation started in 2015, Power to Change’s digital presence started life as a quick win website knocked up from a theme, and quickly was outgrown through the rapid growth of the organisation.

The new site needed to show off the scale of the impact that Power to Change delivers nationwide through its funding schemes, promote the new opportunities and funding programmes, and celebrate all the success of the existing community business network. On top of all that we were keen to unpick some of the valuable content that was getting lost in the old site framework.

Content Management: custom development and integration

Built using the WordPress CMS as a base, we created a fast performing site within a well established framework. Creating custom fields and management areas for content, the administrators can create and evolve the site with great flexibility.

The system integrates to both the funding application form, powered by webforms, as well as the Salesforce CRM system that powers the information for the community business data on the map.

Component led UI design

We carried out a series of user interviews and user engagement, as well as studying the current site’s analytics to gather insight into trends and content interests.

Working with Power to Change’s core team, we worked on creating a series of UI component designs that we could use across the site framework and wireframes.

Working closely with Red Stone Media, who visually enhanced the site wireframes and prototype mockups we provided, we took their polished designs and our development team brought the site to life.

Ongoing relationship

We’re delighted to have worked with Power to Change to facilitate genuine change and impact in local areas nationwide. We’re even more delighted to continue to work as an extension to their team, exploring ideas and developments for future phases.

We also love their local pub and look forward to more roof garden meetings!
